Background

Adkins Consulting, Inc. (ACI) is a United States Veteran and woman-owned environmental consulting firm offering environmental services to the private and public sectors.  ACI was formed in 2003 and is committed to providing reliable, efficient, and cost-effective professional services in the Four Corners States.

ACI currently has a staff of five employees in addition to the firm’s owner, Maria Adkins.  Services that ACI provides include environmental permitting and planning, storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), NEPA documents, Biological Evaluations, Wetland Delineations, US Army Corps of Engineer Jurisdictional Determination packages, and 404 permitting services.

ACI has a wide range of services through sub-contractors that include: Archeological, Land Surveys, site assessment, site investigation, and soil and groundwater remediation.

 


Capabilities

ACI offers a wide array of environmental services including:

National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Compliance. We have wildlife biologists with extensive experience conducting biological surveys, wetland delineation and mitigation, and preparing environmental assessments.

Environmental Permitting and Planning. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits for municipalities, construction projects and industrial facilities; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs); Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans; Emission Inventories and Air Permits; and Groundwater Discharge Plans.

Specially Designated Areas (SDAs). Identify and ensure compliance with regulations regarding Specially Designated Areas.

Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs). Identify and ensure compliance with regulations regarding Areas of Critical Environmental Concern.

 


Past Performance

ACI has successfully served the Four Corners area since 2003 doing business with the Oil and Gas Industry, State and Federal Agencies, and others in the private sector economy.

  • Conduct and submit Environmental Assessments, Biological Survey Reports, and US Army Corps of Engineers Jurisdictional Determination packages for numerous projects on BLM, private, and Indian Lands since 2009 representing Enterprise Products Corporation.
  • Conduct and submit Environmental Assessments, Biological Survey Reports, and Surface Use Plans for numerous of projects on Forest Service, BLM, and Indian lands since 2003 representing Energen Resources Corporation.
  • Conduct and submit Environmental Assessments and Biological Survey Reports for numerous projects on Forest Service, BLM, and Indian lands since 2003 representing XTO Energy, Inc.
  • Conduct and submit Environmental Assessments, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, Phase I, and Biological Survey Reports for numerous projects on BLM, Forest Service, Indian, and Bureau of Reclamation lands from 2003 representing ConocoPhillips Company.
  • Environmental Assessments and Biological Survey Reports for several projects on City of Farmington and San Juan County lands for the City of Farmington and San Juan County from 2006 to present.
 


Quality Assurance, Health and Safety

Quality Assurance – ACI maintains a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program to ensure that all work is conducted in a scientifically sound and legally defensible manner.

Health and Safety - ACI has a comprehensive Health and Safety Program.  The Health and Safety Program covers the wide range of services provided by Adkins Consulting, Inc. and is reviewed and updated regularly.
